COCKTAIL AND FOOD PLATTER PHOTOSHOOT - CARGO LOUNGE 7TH MARCH, 2011

Earlier this year I was asked by one of the managers from Cargo to do a shoot for their new cocktail menu and food platter. There were a few challenges for this shoot. Firstly, it was shot during the daytime and the natural light coming in from the Cargo Lounge windows was excessively harsh. However, I managed to fix this problem by covering the windows with thick table cloth sheets. Secondly, I only received the brief on arrival so I had to quickly skim through it while the cocktail and platter were being made. Luckily, the graphic designer was on location to give a hand in directing the shoot. Lastly, directing 4 people at once was harder than I intended. Just getting everyone in the right poses and arrangements was quite a challenge. I took a lot out from the shoot especially in the communicating/directing department and it was a joy to collaborate with everyone involved with the shoot.

TIMMY TRUMPET AT CARGO LOUNGE - 10TH JUNE, 2011

Being a social photographer for Cargo Bar/Lounge, I was pretty stoked when I found out Timmy Trumpet was playing on the Friday night of the Queens Birthday long weekend. For those who don't know him, Timmy Trumpet is a DJ/Musician and tours alongside with the Stafford Brothers at many Australian/International festivals. It was a fun-packed night and Timmy Trumpet definitely knows how to get the crowd going. For me it was an awesome learning experience and I hope there are many more great opportunities in the future. Having played the trumpet myself during my high school years, I have been a huge fan of his music. One of my favourite songs of his is 'Sunrise'. You can check it out through the attached link.

Here are a few of my favourite shots taken from the night.

Cheers,

WELCOME TO VINCENT CHOY PHOTOGRAPHY!

Hi Everyone! Thanks for stopping by. This blog is where I will be sharing my photography work and work by professional photographers that inspire me. Really, it's a learning space to share my journey in photography. I am self-taught in the photography world and currently do freelance work  for a number of Sydney bars/clubs including Cargo bar/lounge, the Loft, Bungalow 8, Kit & Kaboodle Supper Club and The Sugarmill.

The long-term goal for this blog is that it will help me grow as a photographer and hopefully inspire others. Comments and critique are always appreciated and valued. Stay tuned for more posts.
